DescriptionRitchie number 47. Single-edged composite bone comb, four plates, three iron rivets, two suspension holes, double-ring-and-dot decoration. (Ritchie). Antler comb; composite, high backed. There are four tooth plates held between two ribs with three iron rivets. About half the teeth are missing. Both faces of the comb have incised double circle-and-dot, cut so deep that it has perforated the tooth-plates in three places. The ribs are convex in cross-section and extend right to the edges of the comb. There is a pair of circular suspension-holes in the centre of the back of the comb. ( Brundle)
