DescriptionFIREARM: Very nicely constructed and finished side-by-side double barrelled shotgun. Corresponds to modern 10 Gauge, but is probably from the early days of fixed ammunition - the hammers are set well back and contact firing pins which occupy the location of the percussion cap nipples of earlier designs. The browned barrels break downwards when an elegant curved lever below the trigger guard swings to the right: a cartridge ejector operates at the same time. There is a short forward stock pinned below the rear of the barrels. The main stock is plain apart from some chequering, and has a steel butt plate. Some very restrained engraving to the frame completes the decoration.
