DescriptionStone ball from the excavation assemblage from a Neolithic chambered tomb at Crantit, St Ola. Excavated in 1998. Deposited on top of the wall head of the north cell. Made from banded light-brown sandstone. Most of the surface has been worn away, although in a few places parts of it are preserved. The surviving surface area is completely smooth suggesting that the stone ball was extensively polished and it its original form it was perfectly spherical.
