DescriptionA complete lead cloth seal of likely modern date c.1800-1900 CE. The object is a Dutch customs seal, ovoid in plan and rectangular in section, consisting of two flat faces folder over on to each other. Both faces bear visible decoration, though they are largely obliterated. One face shows a rampant lion blazoned on a heater shield, the Dutch arms, while the other only features a fragment of a letter or number, possibly a "D" or a "6". Patinated light grey to dark grey.
