DescriptionTwo dimensional sculpture using soapstone, oak, slate and paint. Made up of three main sections. Left section grey coloured wood panel with two soapstone runners with a grey soapstone shaped piece lying in them. Middle section grey soapstone, unpolished, with a polished shape (stylised bird). Edge polished with an engraved wave motif. Right piece green oak with polished soapstone shape moving off the edge. The left hand side of the piece is flat with a rise to the right in the centre which meets the final section. The overall feeling of the piece is of a wave (tide coming in) carrying an abstract form of polished soapstone up the beach, depositing it and rolling back.
