DescriptionTankard awarded to 'Smudger' Smith during World War II. He gave the tankard to the donor's father, Robert Miller, who served as adjutant with the Royal Artillery anti-aircraft battery at Lyness. Smith was his batman, and was taught to read and write by Millar, a former teacher. Smith had won several tankards for boxing, and gave Millar this one when he was posted elsewhere.
