DescriptionWork table and two wall-mounted shelves belonging to Margaret Tait (1918-1999). The table has a varnished pine body, with turned pine legs, and a deal top. There is a drawer on one side, and a flap on the other side. One end has been decorated by Margaret with blue paint and there are traces of use and paint on the table top.
The shelves are both of stained pine with curved and shaped sides; one is stained darker than the other, and one is slightly larger than the other.
The table features in Tait's short film, Where I Am is Here (1964), and table and shelves appear in Tailpiece (1976), where Tait films empty interiors and furniture as she leaves her house and studio at Buttquoy, Kirkwall.
