Nine silver Royal Artillery buttons down front and two smaller buttons on shoulder flaps. A silver flaming bomb is on each side of the collar.

ORKNEY is on each shoulder in gold metal purl.
There are two vertical flaps and a slit at the back of the jacket, with eight silver Royal Artillery buttons: three on each flap and two above. There are hooks for a belt at waist height on either side.
The jacket is lined with black cotton/wool mix.
