DescriptionARTEFACTS RELATING TO ROBERT JAMES CANNON, who was lost on HMS Royal Oak: Yardley shaving set, birthday present he never received. Cardboard box with wood effect decoration. Also has brown, black and red irregular pattern. The lid is hinged and opens to reveal a label on the inner side of the lid which says "Yardley, London". Inside there are two glass pots with gold coloured metal lids set onto recesses in the bottom of the box. The original leaflet describin other products in the range are still inside. The pot on the right contains a solid green balm. The label reads "Yardley Lavender Concrete Brilliantine, 33 Old Bond Street, London". The other pot contains a white shaving soap stick, the bottom half is wrapped in embossed silver paper.
