DescriptionOrkney Volunteer Garrison Artillery Sword - Bayonet (probably about 1860). This sword-bayonet apparently belonged, from the marks on it, to the first of the Orkney T.A.(V.), probably about 1860. It was found, wedged between the floor and the wall, in the garret of an old house (now demolished) in Kirkwall, the site of which is now occupied by the Kirkwall Hotel.
