In the mid-1970s, inspired and encouraged by Mary Baker and other women in Sanday and other islands, the Isle of Sanday Knitters was born, producing knitwear for three decades. The author knitted, designed and led the company and tells the story of the organisation and the women and men who helped to build and run it.
