The Gentle Shetlander

The story of Adam Christie, born in Shetland but transferred to Sunnyside Asylum, Aberdeen, in 1901, where he was to spend the next fifty years of his life. He wrote poetry, played the violin and wrote regular letters to The Shetland Times, but was most renowned for his stonework and carvings of animals, human figures and heads, as well as for his drawings and paintings.
