The Auskerry Whale, 1777

A paper written about records from the Traill Dennison collection in Orkney Archive; seven documents pertaining to a large whale that came ashore at Auskerry in July 1777, which allow the writer to follow events from the discovery of the whale to the marketing of the products from it.
