Two teenage girls have mysteriously disappeared from the small Scottish Island of Eday. It is as if they have vanished. Eight years later in Cambridgeshire, 7 year old Callum Thompson is trying to cope with his parents' separation. He begins to act strangely and is constantly talking to his 'other daddy' and his new friend Jeremy. Meanwhile Dr Andrew McGregor returns to his parapsychology unit in Cambridge to find himself faced with a new challenge. Who is Callum's 'other daddy', Jeremy and what is the link with Eday?
