A Stranger to the Fur Trade: Joseph Wrigley and the transformation of the Hudson's Bay Company, 1884-1891

Joseph Wrigley was appointed to the new position of trade commissioner for the Hudson's Bay Company in 1884. He had previously been involved in the English textile industry and had no connections with the company, the fur trade or Canada. His seven year term was marked by several important developments, examined in this publication.
