The Third Statistical Account of Scotland, Vol.20 B: The county of Shetland

This volume seeks to present the main characteristics and elements of variety at the local level within the islands. The parish descriptions are all by Shetland residents. Shetland had probably seen greater changes than any other part of Scotland in the recent past through the development of the oil industry.
